Lorde has appeared on the first episode of the Rookie podcast, and even played a demo version of uber-hit ‘Green Light’ as part of the smash.Ella Yelich-O’Connor also revealed that part of the inspiration for the track came from her and producer Jack Antonoff going to see a Florence + The Machine gig during the writing process for the record.Lorde said: “For any argument that is like, ‘oh, you know, she went pop,’ or whatever, it’s like, that’s just the inside of my brain, and that’s how a song like that is, literally, that’s how it enters the world and that’s how it, you know, goes out into the universe.”Listen to the ’Green Light’ demo snippet here, around the 25 minute mark, and listen to the full version below.
