Watch Lorde play ‘Green Light’ and ‘Liability’ on Saturday Night Live
It’s the first live performance of tracks from ‘Melodrama’.
Last night (11th March), Lorde took to Saturday Night Live to perform tracks from her upcoming second album ‘Melodrama’ live for the first time. She performed ‘Green Light’ and the more recently released ‘Liability’ in the show, which was guest-hosted by Scarlett Johansson.‘Melodrama’ is set to be released on 16th June, and Lorde has a whole host of festival appearances coming up over the summer, though no headline shows, in the UK or anywhere else, have yet been scheduled.Lorde talked to Zane Lowe about new track ‘Liability’ on his Beats 1 show earlier this week, saying: “I’m really proud of this bit of songwriting. I feel like I got somewhere they hadn’t been before, which is always a nice feeling as a songwriter. It’s interesting because I had this realization that because of my lifestyle and what I do for work there’s going to be a point with every single person around me where I’m gonna be attacks on them in some way. If it is having to give up a little portion of their privacy or their life becoming more difficult or whatever. It was just this moment of sadness and I remember it so vividly.”Watch Lorde play ‘Green Light’ and ‘Liability’ on SNL below.
