Lorde offers update on “totally different” second album
Chart-topping New Zealander is playing two London headline shows this week.
Chart-topping sensation Lorde is wasting no time in following up her debut album ‘Pure Heroine’.
In an interview with BBC Newsbeat, she went into detail about a “totally different”-sounding second LP.
“I wrote the last album about that world which was the suburb where I grew up and populated by my friends and people who were really familiar to me,” she said, acknowledging her insanely fast ascent to superstardom.
“Now I’m in a different place every day and I’m with new people every day and it’s a different vibe,” she continued, before admitting that new material could include some high-profile collaborations.
The process is very much at the beginning, she stressed, but she also said she’s “learnt so much as a songwriter, there’s going to be so much of an improvement because of that.”
This week, Lorde headlines London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire (5th June) and Brixton Academy (6th June). She supports Arcade Fire at London Earls Court on 7th September.
