Major Lazer cartoon set to premiere next month
The animated series tells the story of a superhero named Major Lazer.
Major Lazer’s much anticipated cartoon series is set to air next month.
Premiering on Thursday, April 16th at midnight as part of FXX’s Animation Domination, it coincides with the release of Major Lazer’s new album, ‘Peace is the Mission’, set to drop later this spring.
“The reggae dancehall grooves of Major Lazer are just one of the highlights in Major Lazer,” a press release reads. “The animated series tells the story of a superhero named Major Lazer who, with the help of his two teenaged friends, Penny and BLKMRKT, fights against the villains that populate the futuristic dystopia that is Jamaica. A self-proclaimed “Guardian of the Groove,” Major Lazer vows to fight for the rights of the Jamaican people and to bring down the ruthless curmudgeon, President Whitewall.”
Diplo will be credited as co-creator and executive producer of the show. You can check out the opening sequence below:
