Måneskin frontman Damiano David shares debut solo track ‘Silverlines’

The Italian singer has teamed up with producer Labrinth for his dramatic first solo offering.

Måneskin frontman Damiano David announces solo project

Fresh from a summer of huge festival appearances, Måneskin frontman Damiano David has officially announced plans for a solo project.

The news of his first solo offering came last week after the Italian singer-songwriter began to tease the new venture over on his personal Instagram page, courtesy of a rather moody video in which he reveals: “I travelled all around the world to find my voice, just to end up where everything’s started. My name is Damiano David. And today, is the first day of my life.”

To kick off this new chapter of his career, Damiano has now released his debut solo single, ‘Silverlines’, today (Friday 27th September). The dramatic track doubles as a collaboration with British producer Labrinth, who has previously worked with the likes of Beyoncé, Zendaya, Rihanna and The Weeknd.

“This song is very special to me,” Damiano has said. “It was one of the first songs to be recorded on this new project, and at the time it represented a letter of hope, but now, if I look back, I can see how I am exactly where the song said I would be. It was automatic for me to pick this song as the beginning of this new chapter and I really hope that people are going to join me on this journey.”

Check out the equally cinematic video below.

Damiano has been the frontman of Måneskin since the band formed back in 2016 in Rome, just a year before they took part in Italy’s X Factor in 2017. Since then, the band have released three albums - including last year’s ‘Rush!’ - and were catapulted to international fame when they won the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with ‘Zitti E Buoni’.
