Manuka Honeys debuts ‘Pushing Pillows’ track via new Brighton collective echochamp
Newly-minted seaside label is promising new music from Sulky Boy, Gus Taylor and Paris Giles.
George Boorman’s new project is the latest in a long list of reasons why it’s better by the sea. As Manuka Honeys, he’s making a woozy introduction with the defyingly earnest ‘Pushing Pillows’, a lone wanderer of a track that picks up the dregs of life and makes them into something to marvel in.
His latest track is heading up the launch of echochamp, a newly-launched Brighton collective / label made up of some of the best musicians in the city. Central to a scene that’s giving us great acts like Our Girl, Black Honey and Demob Happy, this is the label’s first release.
Every Thursday (from today onwards), we’ll be hearing new material from Paeris Giles, Gus Taylor and Sulky Boy.
All the new music leads towards echochamp’s first free showcase, taking place on 16th March at Brighton Bleach with Bayy, Abattoir Blues, Sulky Boy and Our Girl all confirmed.
Listen to ‘Pushing Pillows’ below.
Festival special! Featuring Wolf Alice, Kasabian, Lykke Li, Marmozets, Genesis Owusu and more.
