MCR Compare Themselves To Queen, Plan “Special” Reading & Leeds Set
The band were bottled off a few years ago, but will now headline the event.

As if they didn’t borrow from the band enough already, My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way has likened his bottling at 2006’s Reading Festival to a similar experience Queen had at an Australian event in the 70s.
Speaking to NME, Way said: ‘I said to the guys, ‘I never want to play this again until we headline’. Kind of what Freddie Mercury once said when Queen were booed offstage at [Sunbury] festival.’
He went on to say MCR’s 2011 headline set will be ‘something special’.
Reading & Leeds Festival will take place from 26th - 28th August, with My Chemical Romance, Pulp (both Friday Reading and Saturday Leeds), The Strokes (Saturday Reading and Sunday Leeds) and Muse (Sunday Reading and Friday Leeds) headlining.
