Modest Mouse confirm new album ‘Strangers to Ourselves’
News follows the hints of a lead single, ‘Lampshades on Fire’.
Modest Mouse have let the cat out the bag by confirming the title and release date for their new album.
It’s called ‘Strangers to Ourselves’ and it’s due out in North America on 3rd March. Six years in the making, it follows 2009s ‘No One’s First and You’re Next’.
The news emerged from a fan’s Twitter account, after they received a test pressing of the lead single ‘Lampshades on Fire’, which is likely to be streaming online very soon. The pressing arrived with a note confirming the album details.
New music has been promised for a couple of years. Back in 2013, tour dates were cancelled in order for the band to finish a new LP. 2014’s seen them re-releasing their albums ‘This Is a Long Drive for Someone With Nothing to Think About’ and ‘The Lonesome Crowded West’.
