Modest Mouse launch ‘Strangers to Ourselves’ “linguistic remix generator”

Type in a word - any word - and Modest Mouse will make a remix for you.

With first album in eight years ‘Strangers to Ourselves’ out now, Modest Mouse are giving random words their platform with a new “linguistic remix generator.”

Available here, the “generator” allows you to type any phrase up to 96 characters, with each random word prompting a different kind of glitchy remix, coupled with kaleidoscopic visuals.

So far, we’ve given Kanye his dues by trying “Swish” (sounds swish, tbh), George Ezra’s “Petan” begins with a very sassy “here we go!” chant, and if you type “DIY” it comes up with a fucking bonkers guitar remix. Fair enough.

Read up on DIY’s recent Modest Mouse feature, covering everything they got up to in their eight years away.

The band hinted this week that another new album could already be in the works.
