Modest Mouse perform ‘Lampshades On Fire’ on The Tonight Show

Brock and co take ‘Strangers To Ourselves’ to American telly.

Modest Mouse last night (17th March) took their new album to American television, performing the record’s lead single ‘Lampshades On Fire’ on The Tonight Show.

‘Strangers To Ourselves’ was released via Glacial Pace on the day of performance, and is the band’s first full-length album since 2007’s ‘We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank’.

The Issaquah act performed as a nine-piece on the show, including dual drummers, adding a whole new feel to the track.

The band are set to embark on a busy summer of touring, including a short UK tour in the run up to an appearance at T In The Park in July.

Recently, DIY chronicled what the band have been up to in the eight years since their last album in The Lonesome Crowded Wait.

‘Strangers To Ourselves’ is out now. Read the DIY review of the album, which features in the March issue of the mag, here.
