Nia Archives shares new ’90s electronica-inspired cut ‘Vertical’
The track gets lifted from her forthcoming new album, ‘Emotional Junglist’, which is out this summer.

A month on from announcing plans to release her highly-anticipated new album, Nia Archives have offered up another taste of it. Arriving in the form of ‘Vertical’, the track is a nostalgia-packed track that channels the free, blurry-edged spirit of ’90s electronica.
Speaking of the track - which was equally inspired by Madonna’s Ray of Light era and Björk - Nia has said: “There’s this one synth that kind of beeps, and it just makes you feel a bit dissociative. That’s what I enjoy about production – how can you say something without the lyrics? I wanted it to feel like December in London.”
The track gets lifted from her forthcoming second album ‘Emotional Junglist’, which will follow up her iconic debut, 2024’s ‘Silence Is Loud’, when it’s released on 24th July. It follows on from her previously-released singles ‘Boys In Blue’ and flirtatious lead single, ‘Danger’. Written across 2025, ‘Emotional Junglist’ is 15 tracks in length, and was worked on alongside James Ford (Arctic Monkey’s, Blur), Ethan P. Flynn (FKA Twigs, David Byrne) and Julia Michaels (Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter); plus, it features appearances from both Jorja Smith and Sampha.
Alongside the release of ‘Vertical’, Nia has shared an appropriately nocturnal clip, which was shot by Dylan Gee, at night in New York City. Check out the video, and the tracklisting for her new album, below.
