Giving nothing away
A new Nine Inch Nails album could still be out before the end of 2016
“Just wait and see what happens,” says Trent Reznor.

On 18th December last year, Trent Reznor tweeted “New NIN coming in 2016. Other stuff, too.” Almost 365 days to the good, and there’s still no sign of that new Nine Inch Nails record. Get a move on, Trent mate.
But in a new interview with Rolling Stone, where Reznor discussed his role in award-winning soundtracks, he briefly hinted that new music could be imminent. “Those words did come out of my mouth, didn’t they?” he replied, when pressed about last year’s announcement. “Oh, yeah, it’s December, isn’t it? Just wait and see what happens.”
Discussing his soundtrack work, Reznor also spoke about how life outside Nine Inch Nails has inspired the band’s music. “Working on these two films and Nine Inch Nails has provided some good checks and balances and makes them all more interesting. You can immerse yourself in a project knowing you’ll be on the other side of the spectrum next week, depending on how well you can stay sane switching between jobs. For us, it’s worked pretty good.”
Nine Inch Nails’ most recent album, ‘Hesitation Marks’, came out in 2013.
