Oro Swimming Hour present the woozy ‘Squint’

Oliver Wilde and Nicholas Stevenson’s new project are releasing a new album on Art Is Hard next week.

Every weekday, DIY’s new music know-it-all Neu brings you one essential new release to get obsessed with. Today’s Neu Pick comes from Oro Swimming Hour.

Bristol’s Oliver Wilde is releasing an album under a new project with children’s book illustrator Nicholas Stevenson.

Oro Swimming Hour’s debut LP ‘Penrose Winoa’ comes out next Friday (28th July) via Art Is Hard, and we’ve got the first play of its brilliant, woozy cut ‘Squint’ as today’s Neu Pick.

The track recalls the lo-fi gorgeousness of (Sandy) Alex G and the intricate songwriting of Elliott Smith, and is mastered by Warren Hildebrand of the Orchid Tapes label. Recorded in Oliver’s house with all analogue equipment, Oro Swimming Hour is a beautifully simple, romantic new project that’s perfect for these humid, never-ending summer evenings.

Listen to ‘Squint’ below. ‘Penrose Winoa’ is out next Friday and can be pre-ordered via Art is Hard on an extremely pretty splatter 12” here.
