Palm enter a digital realm in their ‘Shadow Expert’ video
The Philly rockers released their EP of the same name last month.
Last month, experimental Philly rockers Palm burst forth with ‘Shadow Expert’, their new EP on Carpark Records.
The title track of the collection was a short but sweet insight into their slightly bonkers world, all tricky guitar riffs, shifting moods and an ability to move between sounding sharp yet slippery. Basically, it was impossible to pin them down (in a good way) and the track’s new video is equally, compellingly bonkers.
Directed by JP Mayers, it transforms the members of the band into digital avatars, the likes of which you might have seen inhabiting Second Life. Instead of a sort-of realistic world though, they’re cast into a psychedelic realm where palaces are rendered in extremely vibrant patterns, the band encounter pastel-coloured giant farmyard animals (and an elephant), navigate a giant maze and come across huge, glitched-out models of people.

Featuring Yard Act, Death Cab For Cutie, Graham Coxon, Maisie Peters and more.
