Peter Hook to play Joy Division’s ‘Unknown Pleasures’ and ‘Closer’ in full at special UK shows
He’ll also play an opening set of New Order material at the 2020 London and Manchester gigs.
Peter Hook has announced details of two very special gigs in 2020.
Taking place in Manchester and London next May (if you can think that far ahead), the bassist will play both Joy Division albums - 1979’s ‘Unknown Pleasures’ and 1980’s ‘Closer’ - in full, as well as an opening set of material from New Order.
The first show will be at Manchester’s Apollo on Friday 15th May, and then comes to London’s Brixton Academy the following night.
The gigs, billed as ‘An Evening with Peter Hook & The Light – Joy Division: A Celebration’, will celebrate 40 years of both ‘Unknown Pleasures’ and ‘Closer’, with the former celebrating that birthday this year, and ‘Closer’ next.
