Picture Parlour offer up new track ‘Cielo Drive’
The duo’s latest offering follows on from their previous release, ‘Who’s There To Love Without You?’, which landed back in April.

Just a matter of weeks after returning with their comeback single ‘Who’s There To Love Without You?’, Picture Parlour are back with its follow-up. Today (Monday 16th June), the duo have shared the swaggering, anthemic new track ‘Cielo Drive’.
Inspired by the duo’s trip to LA last year, the track comes named after the infamous street on which the Manson murders took place, which was pointed out to the band by an Uber driver. “The location felt oddly reflective of our experience of LA,” the band have said. “A place that can look so peaceful on its suburban surface yet harbours such darkness. When we got to the studio we started flicking through pages of a book we had about the ‘dark corners of Hollywood’ - and lo and behold, Cielo Drive cropped up again. And so Cielo Drive became the backdrop to a song which really just felt like a steam of consciousness about our interactions with people in California, a place so alien to us.”
As well as their latest track, the band have also confirmed plans to head out on a special six-date tour of independent venues this July, in association with Music Venue Trust. “The first time we met was at The Castle in Manchester,” the band Katherine Parlour has said. “Ella was playing a show that night in a different band. As soon as Ella had packed up her gear, I walked straight up with two pints in hand and introduced myself. There and then we decided to start a band, and the rest is history. None of that would’ve happened without independent spaces like The Castle: venues where like minded people can meet and build something brand new together. These treasured venues are vanishing rapidly. Independent spaces across the UK are falling victim to mass redevelopment, forced to shut down under impossible financial and security demands. We’re talking about the heart of our music scene here. We owe everything to independent venues, as they provide us creatives with opportunities that we otherwise wouldn’t have. They deserve to be protected, supported, and celebrated, not erased.”
