PRS Report: Live Music Revenues Fall In 2010
Kings of Leon playing arenas rather than stadium dates is part of the reason, according to the report.

Income from live music fell for the first time in a decade last year, according to The Performing Rights Society For Music.
A PRS report reveals that music fans spent 12% less on face value tickets in 2010 compared to 2009, with the drop partly attributed to the fact acts such as The Rolling Stones and Take That did not tour last year, while those such as Kings of Leon played arenas rather than stadium dates.
The report does suggest that the figures should not be a cause for concern, however, stating: ‘It would be very tempting to look at these numbers and jump towards a knee jerk reaction that the live music bubble has burst. We should not. Instead, we should develop a broader understanding of the dynamics at play in the market.’
