The Radiohead man stepped in for Patti Smith on the song for the band’s show at St James’ Church in London.
R.E.M. are releasing a new live album next month, and have shared a special new recording of ‘E-Bow The Letter’.
‘Live At The BBC’ will come out on 19th October, and features a host of unreleased performances and rarities from the vaults. In advance of the release, the band have shared a recording of ‘E-Bow The Letter’ from a 2004 show at London’s St James’ Church.
Patti Smith adds additional vocals on the original version of the track, but for the London show they were joined by Radiohead’s Thom Yorke.
