Rag’n’Bone Man wins BRITs Critics Choice Award 2017
He follows in the footsteps of Adele, Florence & The Machine and Sam Smith.
Rory Graham, better known as blues-R&B singer Rag’n’Bone Man, has won this year’s BRITs Critics’ Choice Award.
He beat fellow nominees Dua Lipa and Anne-Marie to the prize, and follows in the footsteps of previous winners such as Adele, Florence & The Machine, Sam Smith and last year’s winner Jack Garratt.
This year, he sold out the Electric Brixton, while also playing at Glastonbury and Lovebox. He’s also got a debut album, ‘Human,’ planned for the spring. Still, Graham seemed genuinely surprised that he’d won the award, despite all signs pointing towards his 2017 dominance since someone first whispered “buzz”: “I thought they had made a mistake. I was up against two pop giants. It’s bloody brilliant! I’m crazy happy. Proper massive grin.”
The BRIT Awards take place on 24th February at the O2 Arena in London.
