Rebecca Clements streams new track, ‘Comaboy’

19 year old Bristol songwriter Rebecca Clements shapes intimacy into something dark and troubling on what’s only her second track to date, ‘Comaboy’.

The new song links up with ‘Wildlife’, a debut unveiled last month. Both tracks share a kinship in giving tiny moments a spotlight - the “lump in your throat” that Clements sings about in ‘Comaboy’ seems to carry earth-shaking importance.

Produced by Iain Archer (Jake Bugg, Snow Patrol), it’s nothing but Clements and a stirring guitar line. Still, it’s the kind of song that has every chance of being chanted back to this newcomer when she eventually plays it on festival stages to giant, feverish crowds.
