Sam Fender drops lyric video for moving new track ‘I’m Always On Stage’
This latest gut-wrencher is lifted from the forthcoming deluxe edition of ‘People Watching’, out next month.
Not content with releasing one of the albums of the year - ‘People Watching’, obvs - and then scooping the 2025 Mercury Prize for said record, Sam Fender has now offered up a poignant new single that is one of eight new tracks featured on the LP’s forthcoming deluxe version (out on 5th December via Polydor Records).
A stripped-back, tender cut, ‘I’m Always On Stage’ sees Sam reflect on how much his life has changed since his days as a teenager in North Shields - for better, and for worse. “If you see me smiling / It’s forceful and violent / You had my soul when it was vibrant / Before I lost it on a stage,” he sings pensively over a bed of gentle acoustic guitar.
