Sam Fender releases music video for ‘Little Bit Closer’ featuring Adolescence’s Owen Cooper
The music video was also directed by the hit series’ director, Philip Barantini.

Sam Fender has released a music video for ‘Little Bit Closer’ - a highlight of his recent hit album ‘People Watching’ - featuring Owen Cooper. The young actor is best known for playing Jamie Miller in the smash Netflix series Adolescence, and the music video sees him reunite with the series’ director, Philip Barantin, for the short film.
Fender’s new video features the actor going on a camping trip in the Lake District with a group of friends, where he contemplates his belief in God, expanding on the lyrical themes of the song.
“It’s so great to be working with Phil [Barantini] again,” said Fender on the making of the video, who he’d previously worked with on the visuals for ‘Spit of You’. “I had no doubt he was the right director for this piece.”
“Phil called to say he’d asked Owen if he’d like to be in the video, and that Owen was keen,” he recalled. “I was elated that he could do it after seeing his incredible performance in Adolescence. Alongside Semera Khan [Creative Director] and the rest of the cast and team, they have created something beautiful.”
