Smith Westerns announce indefinite hiatus
Cullen Omori announces the news via Twitter.
Smith Westerns’ frontman Cullen Omori has announced the group’s “indefinite hiatus” via a series of posts on Twitter. The Chicago man are planning a break after their hometown gig at Schubas on 23rd December. Omari stated:
“Definitely going to be an end of an era at Schubas on the 23rd. If you’re fan and live in Chicago I would suggest getting a ticket.. Can’t stress anymore that the 23rd at Schubas is the last official show before we go on indefinite hiatus… It’s been a cool 7 years and I’m super grateful for everything. Wish some things recently could’ve changed but the 23rd is a last hurrah!”
Omari also revealed a “NYE surprise for New York”, speculating a final show in the works. Smith Westerns released three albums during their seven year history, including their most recent album ‘Soft Will’ in 2013.
