SOAK unveils new video for ‘Reckless Behaviour’
The touching clip accompanies her ‘Before We Forgot How To Dream’ cut.
Fresh from being nominated for this year’s Mercury Prize, SOAK has revealed her new video for ‘Reckless Behaviour’.
The track, which gets taken from her 2015 debut ‘Before We Forgot How To Dream’, gets accompanied by a touching clip that shows the beauty in letting go, being that little bit mischievous and indulging in a spot of reckless behaviour - geddit?! - every so often.
The video’s director Bob Gallagher has also offered up a little of his own insight into the clip: “When I first saw SOAK perform a few years ago the thing that struck me most was that there is a really tangible sense of empathy to Bridie’s songwriting,” he said. “You get the impression that she’s writing for someone, in a way that’s genuinely very caring and reassuring. I tried to get that sense of empathy across in Jo, the older character played by Fiona York. Jo is a thief so she’s very observant. I think she sees elements of herself in the younger character played by Dani Hiro. The video is about what two people observe in each other and how that makes them relate in a way that transcends their difference in age or their backgrounds.”
SOAK’s new video lands ahead of her forthcoming live show in London, which takes place next March. Watch the clip below, and check out her forthcoming live plans underneath the player.
