Spike Jonze filmed Frank Ocean’s set at Lovebox 2017
The acclaimed director’s film was projected onto the main stage as the show took place.
This weekend saw Frank Ocean make his long-awaited return to London after a string of cancellations at other festivals, with some uber-complicated production - and a famous director - up his sleeves.
He was joined during his Lovebox headline set by none other than acclaimed director Spike Jonze (Her, Where The Wild Things Are, Being John Malkovich) who filmed Frank Ocean’s show as it unfolded. At the same time, the footage of his low-key performance on an isolated box was projected back onto the main stage. Very nifty.
The Guardian reports that Spike Jonze is rumoured to be making a Frank Ocean tour documentary.
One fan found themselves right by Frank’s tiny stage, and shared footage of Spike Jonze filming the show.
