Stella Donnelly announces details of new album ‘Love and Fortune’
The follow-up to her 2022 album ‘Flood’ is set for release this November.

Just a few weeks on from sharing her first new material in over three years, Aussie singer-songwriter Stella Donnelly is back with news of a brand new album.
Having shared her evocative pair of singles, ‘Baths’ and ‘Standing Ovation’, last month, she’s now confirmed plans to release her third album ‘Love and Fortune’ - and the follow-up to her 2022 record ‘Flood’ - on 7th November via Brace Yourself Records in the UK and Europe, and Dot Dash Recordings for the rest of the world.
Born following a break from touring and a period of self-reflection about her love of music, and her future working with it, ‘Love and Fortune’ was recorded in Naarm/Melbourne with longtime collaborators and friends Marcel Tussie, Jack Gaby and Julia Wallace and new guests Sophie Ozard, Timothy Harvey and Ellie Mason. “These songs wouldn’t leave me alone,” Stella has said, in a press release. ”Like seagulls, they screamed at me when I rode to work, they pecked at me while I wrote essays, and they stole my chips the second I thought I was happier without music.”
The album is set to be eleven tracks in length, and will include her previously released singles, alongside another new track which she’s now shared, the lilting, disarming ‘Feel It Change’. “I wrote this song on a baritone guitar in the shed of my sharehouse, plugged into all of my housemate’s overdrive pedals,” Stella says, of the track. “I think the neighbours started getting shitty after a while because I stewed on the same chords for ages. It’s about the rumination of slowly peeling off the band-aid of a relationship that was doomed to fall apart. Trying to capture that phase of a break up where all you do is bristle and fizz in resentment and finger pointing.”
