Steve Buscemi’s Dreamy Eyes get ‘Closer’ on new single
The incredibly named Stockholm four-piece are today’s Neu Pick.
Every weekday, DIY’s new music know-it-all Neu brings you one essential new release to get obsessed with. Today’s Neu Pick comes from Steve Buscemi’s Dreamy Eyes.
Apparently we’re running out of band names. Among a truckload of Beach-something or something-Girl, there’s Stockholm quartet Steve Buscemi’s Dreamy Eyes, who seem to have missed the memo.
The Rama Lama Records signees have the sweetest indie-pop songs to back up the incredible name too. New single ‘Closer’, which follows their exceedingly promising brace of debut tracks from last year, incorporates muted, math-y guitars of the same kind that Foals utilised so well on ‘Antidotes’. It also shows Matilda Wiezell to be a sublime vocalist, whose words float on a cloud of an instantly danceable rhythm section, supported by the equally impressive Elias Mahfoud.
Listen to ‘Closer’ below.
