Stream 400 plus hours of James Murphy’s US Open remixes
That’s more than 16 days of tennis themed James Murphy compositions.
400 plus hours of music from James Murphy. That’s something being offered up - sort of.
The recordings from the post-LCD Soundsystem frontman (don’t say ex, we can always dream - Ed) are described as ‘remixes’, taking the data from US Open tennis matches and translating them, via an algorithm he personally developed, with an array of synths to recreate the action.
Sounds odd, no? Murphy has begun to upload these to SoundCloud, with each piece catalogued by number and round - if you want to know the players, you’ll have to look it up yourself. Descriptions are available for a few favourites, though.
You can stream it all here, with uncut (yes, those ones have been edited down) versions available here.
If you’re wondering how it was all done, a video below will explain all.
