Brighton’s three-day new music showcase The Great Escape kicks off at Midday today (8th May), with the likes of Wild Beasts and Kelis all lined up to play the fest across the new three days.

Day one sees standout performances from Little Dragon (10pm, Coalition) and East India Youth (Midnight, Green Door Store), while newer names arrive in the form of Alvvays (12pm, Blind Tiger) and Glasgow-based band Honeyblood (9.30pm, Bermuda Triangle), who are signed to local Brighton label FatCat.

Elsewhere, Tom Vek plays a sort-of secret set at The Tube, which kicks off at 11pm and goes on until 2am. Exciting US names include Big Ups (8.15pm, Audio) and Wet (9pm, Audio), while Aussie Courtney Barnett is a big name to watch - she plays The Haunt at 9.15pm.
