The Last Dinner Party share storming new single ‘Big Dog’ & poem ‘Come All You Beasts’
The powerful fan favourite comes accompanied by a video filmed during their recent UK headline tour.
Currently in the midst of a hefty touring schedule, The Last Dinner Party have shared their latest storming single, ‘Big Dog’, a fan favourite from their recent live shows.
A darkly tinged, powerful track, the new single comes accompanied by a spoken word offering titled ‘Come All You Beasts’, which was - according to bassist Georgia Davies - written as a way to continue the narrative of their second album to the world of this new song, and is routinely performed before the band play the track.
“’Come All You Beasts’ was written as a way to introduce the folkloric and storytelling elements of ‘From the Pyre’ to ‘Big Dog’,” she explans. “The themes of the song were interpolated with Bible verses, subverting prescriptive messages about women’s safety. We have always been inspired by poetry and performance in all forms, so spoken word with improvisational accompaniment felt like a natural extension of our art.” Scroll down to have a listen on Spotify.
To celebrate the full release of ‘Big Dog’, the band have shared an accompanying video, filmed at one of their recent UK headline shows, which you can watch below. The quintet will continue to play shows well into next year, with a handful of festival dates scheduled for this summer, before tours alongside Sombr and Olivia Rodrigo will take place in October 2026 and January 2027, respectively.
