The Weeknd accused of ripping off a Majical Cloudz video
Director Mitch Moore has uploaded a frame-by-frame clip of the similarities.
The Weeknd’s ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ video has been accused of ripping off an unreleased clip from Canadian musician Majical Cloudz.
A Grant Singer-directed clip - released last month - has come under accusations of plagiarism from Mitch Moore, the director of a Majical Cloudz video that never came out. “But the production was large, and many feedback emails were sent out with private uploads of the edit,” he says on Instagram. “It’s come to my attention that some body at the helm of a certain mega popular video must have seen one or more of these unreleased edits. The resemblance is too uncanny.”
“My mind is a mansion of creativity, so this petty theft is nbd to me,” he clarifies, alongside a clip showing the similarities between the two videos.
