The Weeknd will release new material next month
Republic Records exec Charli Walk promised the ‘craziest Weeknd song ever’.
Following his 2013 debut studio album ‘Kiss Land,’ The Weeknd will release new material next month. Whether this refers to a new single, or perhaps a full-length second record remains to be seen, but as Revolt point out - The Weeknd is playing all over the shop this summer. High-profile festival dates at Coachella, Austin City Limits, and Lollapalooza certainly hint at a substantial summer release.
Also hinting towards new material is Charlie Walk, an exec at Republic Records. He tweeted:
It confirms The Weeknd’s first release since ‘Earned It,’ the song he wrote for the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack. Whatever it is, it’ll be out in June. Watch this space.
