Tyler, The Creator cancels Australian tour
The dates are pulled following an activist organisation’s attempts to block his entry.
Tyler, The Creator has been forced to cancel his upcoming Australian tour.
Today, the promoters responsible for the tour Frontier Touring have cancelled the upcoming dates. The dates affected include all shows in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth. A statement from Tyler, The Creator has been shared, and reads as follows:
“We would much rather come to Australia when it isn’t surrounded in controversy. I love my fans there and hopefully I’ll be back soon. Don’t do drugs.”
The rapper recently claimed on his Twitter account that he has been banned from the country, following pressure to revoke Tyler’s visa by activist organisation Collective Shout. Collective Shout has been demanding that Australia’s Immigration Minister Peter Dutton block Tyler, The Creator’s Visa application because his music promotes violence towards women.
