Tyler, The Creator is launching his own TV network

Tyler, The Creator has struck a deal to create his own internet-TV network, which is expected to launch before the end of June 2015.

The rapper and producer has signed a deal with Whalerock; former ABC and Yahoo executive Lloyd Braun’s new company. Speaking at the Code/Media conference in California, Tyler, The Creator said “I’m creating my own MTV or my own Cartoon Network.”

The new venture is expected to combine free and paid content, charging a subscription fee to access exclusive goodies. Whalerock has also penned deals with other celebrities to create channels, including Kim Kardashian and Howard Stern.

Founder Lloyd Braun stated: “Done right, we are going to show how premium artists who want to control their media life and engage directly with their audiences can work synergistically with traditional media, resulting in a better business for everybody”
