Washed Out explores Millennial malaise on ‘Hard To Say Goodbye’
The house-inspired number is the latest from new album ‘Mister Mellow’.
A few weeks back, Ernest Greene, better known as Washed Out,
returned with a new label (Stones Throw), news of a new album (‘Mister Mellow’,
due 30th June) and a brand new single with an intricate collage of a video.
Now he’s back with another taster of what to expect from the
upcoming LP in the form of ‘Hard To Say Goodbye’. If that title sounds like it’s
all going to be a bit of a downer, prepare to be kind of surprised. It’s
actually a house-inspired track that explores the album’s central theme, Millennial
malaise, with summery beats and synths. Who knew malaise could be so fun, eh?
Washed Out is going on a short string of North American tour
dates in July too. Kicking off in Norfolk, VA, he’ll be off to Carrboro,
Charlotte, Charleston, Orlando, Jacksonville, Tampa, rounding it all off in
Atlanta.

dates below.
With Bob Vylan, St Vincent, girl in red, Lizzy McAlpine and more.
