Watch: Joe Goddard Unveils ‘Taking Over’ Video
Hot Chip member’s video features a talking kebab, as played by Goddard himself.
The video for Joe Goddard’s ‘Taking Over’ begins as a casual end-of-night tale. A perfectly mannered club-goer hops into a black cab, equipped with the customary night grub; a greasy kebab full of delicious but regrettable non-goodness.
What eventually plays out is a beautiful/tragic tale of talking kebab. Goddard’s face is superimposed into salad leaves and doner meat - he sings ‘Taking Over’ to the night reveller before she becomes accustomed enough to trust a box full of talking food. It’s not happily ever after, however.
