Watch Soak cover Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake It Off’ in BBC Radio 1 session
Irish songwriter ditches “THIS. SICK. BEAT” for a piano version.
Last night, Derry songwriter Bridie Monds-Watson aka SOAK arrived at the BBC Radio 1 studios to perform a cover of Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake It Off’ single.
Ditching the “THIS. SICK. BEAT” angle for something way more stripped back, it’s a charming cover, mostly because Bridie’s clearly, unashamedly reading the lyrics to the song off her phone.
The cover arrives ahead of SOAK’s new ‘B a noBody’ single. Earlier this week she unveiled the B-side, ‘SHUVELS’.
SOAK’s currently on a UK tour:
NOVEMBER
06 Manchester, The Castle
07 Derry, Christ Church
08 Dublin, Unitarian Church
