Watch: The Notwist Unveil ‘Kong’ Video

German City Slang signings fill the scene with a rain-sodden apocalypse of a video.

Revived German group The Notwist have unveiled the first video since their return, accompanying the quick-witted, Phoenix-channelling single ‘Kong’.

It’s not the brightest of affairs, this video, and it’s perhaps a little timely with the UK’s current flooding crisis. Probably unintentional, but you know… Yu Sato directs the video, which shows an animated character getting drowned out by miserable weather, the lyric ‘water’s coming in’ being taken to literal new depths. And if you think there’s going to be a happy ending, we’re sorry to reveal that there are NO TWISTS.

‘Close to the Glass’ is released on 24th February (UK, City Slang) and 25th February (US, Sub Pop).

The Notwist, ‘Kong’:

The Notwist play the following UK dates:

MAY 2014
15 Manchester, The Deaf Institute
16 Glasgow, Mono
17 Bristol, The Fleece
18 London, Village Underground
