Trailer Trash Tracys - You Wish You Were Red

Shimmering shoegaze so romanticised, Kevin Shields would even gawk like a wide-eyed schoolboy.

Trailer Trash Tracys are a much more attractive proposition than what their name suggests. The London four-piece deal in shimmering shoegaze so romanticised, Kevin Shields would even gawk like a wide-eyed schoolboy. Like all the seemingly best attractions, the band’s enigmatic status makes them all the more interesting. They’ve an album out soon, and from what we’ve heard so far, we’re sat salivating as much as Kevin would be. So, if track ‘Candy Girl’s hypnotic swathe of kaleidoscopic guitars sparked the first tingling desire for the band, ‘You Wish You Were Red’ is that luscious ambrosia afterwards.

Amidst a spectral presence, sultry, crystalline guitars gently caress Suzanne Aztoria’s alluringly, voluptuous sighs by way of knee-weakening, butterflies in the stomach, Jesus and Mary Chain enchantment. You might not have a clue what she’s on about (something about a boy probably), but it makes her all the more seductive. Just like that, the track breaks off with tantalising chimes and phantom “OoooOooohs.” As it slowly floats off into that misty ether, we’re left chasing with the utmost of infatuation.
