Francois & The Atlas Mountains - Piscine

Newly signed to Domino Records, Francois & The Atlas Mountains’ first single for his new label is a gloriously rich and melodic piece of classy dance pop. Frenchman Francois Marry has carved out a reputation for himself since re-locating to Bristol in 2003 as a purveyor of eclectic and always fascinating music. His forthcoming album ‘E Volo Love’ will be his fourth, and ‘Piscine’ is a perfect introduction to the Frenchman’s captivating sound.

Francois & The Atlas Mountains’ sound is a melting pot of different styles and influences, Marry is a master of many different crafts. ‘Piscine’ progresses effortlessly from florid piano pop to a kind of afro pop take on deep house, full of bubbling bass and rhythms and exuberant vocals. Rather than sounding contrived however, this mesh of sounds feels perfectly natural.

Francois Marry has been on a lot of people’s radar for a long time now, and this most fascinating of characters may finally break through and gain wider recognition if he keeps on making records as gloriously unique as this.
