Kings Of Leon - Sex On Fire

It’s OK! Even Caleb is a little bit embarrassed about the idea of singing about someone’s sex being on fire. You’d take it from Justin Timberlake, perhaps, but from Kings Of Leon?

A while ago we may have wondered if the family concern from the south of the US were vocalising about something a-little-bit-morally-wrong, but over the past few years any ideas of the clan Followill being mildly inbred or fond of the animals are long gone. Following up a career redefining album with another quick sharp is a brave move, but on the evidence of this ‘Sex On Fire’ not a rush job.

Delivered in a satisfying drawl with a necessary touch of urgency, what at first seems a little bit uncomfortable soon sits easy as pie on the radio A lists, sounding both organic and suitably tight at the same time. If you’re looking for Exhibit A in the case to explain why this lot are suddenly major festival headliner material, look no further.
