Have You Heard?
Klangstof - We Are Your Receiver
Woozy and atmospheric, this Norwegian rabble hold little back creatively.

Singer and producer Koen van de Wardt’s unusual band name is a mashup of the Norwegian word for echo (“klang”) and the Dutch word for dust (“stof”). That’s pretty much the perfect description for this lot’s work to date; atmospheric, woozy tunes that sit somewhere between shoegaze and indie.
Having been a part of cult Dutch indie group Moss, it’s no surprise that frontman van der Wardt injects this latest single ‘We Are Your Receiver’ with driving guitars and rolling drum beats. While Chicago band Whitney recently revived a warmer, mellow 70s leaning, Klangstof’s latest puts a glacial spin on that same classic songwriting. It’s familiar and comforting, but laced with warped synths that pierce through the fuzz, harbouring a dark lyrical heart.
‘We Are Your Receiver’ may be about wearing a disguise in the online realm, but Klangstof haven’t hidden anything on this gorgeously atmospheric track.
