Kelis brings the perfect recipe to Latitude 2014

The R&B queen gives Suffolk the perfect taste of her brand new record, ‘Food’.

The sun is shining brightly over Henham Park, and if there’s one artist who’s set to really whet the crowd’s appetites this afternoon, it’s Kelis.

Dressed in a bright yellow polkadot number and looking as fierce as ever, Kelis Rogers wastes no time in showcasing her insatiable talents. Bringing Suffolk a taste of her brand new offering ‘Food’, she’s also not shy to delve into her back catalogue with grace and ease. Moving almost effortlessly from the likes of new cut ‘Breakfast’ into the funky ‘Tasty’ single ‘Millionaire’, she somehow manages to blend the different eras of her career seamlessly.

Backed by a full live band, brass section and all, there's a whole new feel to the likes of 'Trick Me' and 'Milkshake' - both of which spark sheer glee within the audience - that's both sassy and sultry all at the same time. She even manages to throw in a jazzed-up throwback to her feature on Ol' Dirty Bastard's 'Got Your Money' which has the fans dancing with joy.

By the time she throws in a portion of 'Jerk Ribs' for good luck, she's cooked up a right recipe for success. It's only a pity that that it can't keep simmering for a while longer.
