Kagoule turn up the temperature at Latitude 2016

Packing out the tent at The Alcove until people are spilling out the entrance, it isn’t just the temperature that’s on the rise.

“It’s so fucking hot in here,” frontman Cai Burns mutters as the band launch into the start of another new song. It’s been almost a year since Kagoule released their debut album, ‘Urth’, and the songs have lost none of their edge.

Numbers like ‘Glue’ and ‘Gush’ veer dangerously towards disarray, but having made their name by creating their own brand of chaos, the Nottingham trio remain in complete control.

New song ‘Balance’ hints at the tricks the band are still keeping up their sleeves. Raw and fanciful, Kagoule’s otherworldly dreamscapes seem set to delve to darker places - and the crowd are thrilled to be brought along for the ride.

Between songs, the group maintain an animated sense of humour. “Always wear su cream, seriously,” Lucy Hatter warns, indicating her sunburn.

Ending on ‘It Knows It’, the band seem earnestly grateful to be sharing the moment with so many. “There’s LOADS of you here!” Cai exclaims in a between song break. With so much still to show for themselves, their popularity only seems set to grow.
