Peluché give energy to the eclectic at Latitude 2016

It’s a small and subdued crowd that greet the London trio as they step out on the Alcove stage, but it doesn’t take long for the group’s eclectic meld of everything from indie pop through funk to win over a large audience.

As the sound of beach waves roll off the stage, it’s obvious that the band were destined for moments such as this in the scorching summer sun. Skyscraping harmonies reach out and kiss the stars, scaling dizzying heights with an astounding ease.

Barely communicating between songs, the three musicians switch between instruments with an awestriking ease. Dropping guitar for synth, bass for triangle, and even managing the feat of drumming whilst playing the clarinet, the three-piece’s dexterity is unrivalled.

Those gathered by the stage front slowly lose themselves in the music, swaying and shaking to the rhythms as they echo across the tent, whilst individual whoops of appreciation increase in frequency the deeper the group delve into their set. With a shared affinity for everything from the tropical to smooth lounge grooves, and the result is a performance that feels truly exotic.
