Speech Debelle - Better Days feat. Micachu

needn’t be so gloomy. With her debut album ‘Speech Therapy’ nominated for the Mercury Prize, it makes us wonder how her days could get any better.

‘Better Days’ is a bleak and cheerless offering from the South London MC, with minimalist bass and drums to support the lacklustre vocals. Whilst the song’s content may be hard-hitting, with talk of escaping a violent life, the three minute track fails to uplift the listener with a happy ending, as the title suggests. Not one to put on a part soundtrack, that’s for sure.
