Super talented UK electro producer Two Inch Punch’s second single marks a significant contrast from the jumped up electro hip hop rhythms of his debut EP and its standout highlight ‘Love You Up’, arguably even more striking.
‘Paint It Red’ is deep, dark and mysterious. There is a real intensity and claustrophobic effect generated by the skittering beats and swirling synth sounds enveloping around a soulful vocal from Nashville vocalist Mikky Ekko.
If ‘Love You Up’ was a celebratory party jam then ‘Paint It Red’ marks the development of Two Inch Punch as a producer and arranger of serious potential, showcasing a darker and more intriguing sound.
