Hear playlounge and Nai Harvest cover each other for new split EP
Dog Knights Productions is releasing a special, flower-shaped vinyl 12” this August.
Best buds for life Nai Harvest and playlounge are officially joining forces this summer for a split release. New songs. Special covers. Flower-shaped vinyl. It’s all happening, with Dog Knights Productions prepping the 12”.
The release has been one year in the making, and today both bands have unveiled their own renditions of each other’s songs.
First on the agenda is playlounge’s cover of ‘Floor’, a track from Nai Harvest’s 2013 debut ‘Whatever’. “I originally wanted to do Nai’s ‘Quit Mackin”, but Ben wouldn’t let me. Instead Laurie chose ‘Floor’ - because I guess it was the song that fit best with how we sound,” says playlounge’s drummer/vocalist Saam Watkins. “’Whatever’ was my favourite record of 2013, so it was real cool to get to cover a song from it.”
And in the blue corner, there’s Nai Harvest covering ‘Sweet Tooth’ from playlounge’s 2012, breakthrough EP ‘Thrash Magic’. Their take is a chugged, forthright kick to the system, a reminder that both these bands are speaking from the same, brilliant page.
‘Flower’ is available to pre-order here. Stream it in full below.
