Half Moon Run stream ‘Sun Leads Me On’ album in full

Back in August, Half Moon Run spoke about how new album ‘Sun Leads Me On’ was about “finding our voice again”. In that respect, the follow up to debut ‘Dark Eyes’ passes the test with flying colours. And it’s streaming in full exclusively on DIY, ahead of its 23rd October release via Glassnote Records.

Jim Abbiss heads up production on the record, which began with writing sessions in Montreal and California. They put everything to tape at Ontario’s Bathouse Studios.

This “voice” of Half Moon Run’s is diverse, displaying itself with fireworks in ‘I Can’t Figure Out What’s Going On’ before dramatically shifting gears in ‘Turn Your Love’.

“Ultimately, we are learning more and more to understand that it’s because we simply care so much about the music,” multi-instrumentalist Dylan Phillips tells DIY. “We all want what’s best for everyone, and we’re going to be passionately involved in every step of the way. The whole process just becomes a constant exercise in respect and restraint. When things align it shows in the music, and the entire process immediately feels worthwhile.
