Ruby Fields unveils scuzzy new track ‘P Plates’

Australian singer-songwriter Ruby Fields released her debut track ‘I Want’ earlier in the year, and has now revealed a new cut from her upcoming debut EP.

‘P Plates’ is a confident slice of scuzzy alt-pop where Ruby steps up to the plate with some crushing yet poppy riffs and storytelling prowess. Ruby said of the track: “I hope it’s a song for everyone, whether you’re young now, or you’re looking back, namely it’s about not being able to get on the beers because you’re on your P’s and having flings that you’re not really sure about but you’re still always down to grab a beer anyway”.

The track also has an accompanying video, directed and conceptualised by Ruby herself. Shot in her hometown of Cronulla, it sees her buying her own car and sticking those famed P plates on before heading off on a “Fieldzy Tour”. Oh and there’s a super cute dog in tow, and it’s a scientific fact* that dogs make even the loveliest of videos just that little bit more special.

*Might not actually be a “scientific” fact, but hey.
